Thyroid & Parathyroid Services

Conditions We Treat

Goiter
Goiters involve abnormally enlarged thyroid glands.

Graves’ Disease
Graves’ Disease is a disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks normal thyroid cells, leading to excess generation of thyroid hormone and resultant problems such as irregular heartbeat, anxiety, eye and skin diseases, and tremors.

Hyperthyroidism
Hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid occurs when the thyroid gland — an organ crucial to physiological functions such as breathing, controlling metabolism, and maintaining body temperature — overproduces the thyroid hormones.

Thyroid Cancer
Thyroid cancer involves malignant tissue growth on the thyroid gland in the neck. There are different types of thyroid cancer, for which surgery is typically the main treatment.

Thyroid Nodules
Thyroid nodules are abnormal but typically noncancerous growths of tissue within the thyroid gland.

Treatment & Procedure Options

Diagnostic Services
While we do not specialize in thyroid treatment and management, if you have these disorders and have come to see us for other issues, we will assist with guiding you to the correct diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options which may be coordinated out of our office.

Thyroid Surgery (not performed in our office)
Thyroid surgery or thyroidectomy involves removal of some or all of the thyroid gland to treat problems such as cancer, cysts, noncancerous tumors, or overactive thyroid.
